Note: Balance and lifting capacity is determined by air pressure

Balance Capacity Example: A 485LB balancer can be used to balance a 485LB load at 100 psi.  The balance capacity is less for air pressures below 100 psi.  For example, the balance capacity of a 485LB balancer at 65 psi 485LB x 0.65 = 315LB

Lifting Capacity Example: The lifting capacity of a balancer is calculated by multiplying the balance capacity by 80%.  For example, the lifting capacity of a 331LB balancer at 100 psi is 331LB x 0.80 = 265LB.  The lifting capacity of a 331LB balancer at 65 psi is 331LB x 0.65 x 0.80 = 172LB.

FAQs

What is the difference between single reeve and double reeve models?

Single reeve models are ideal for standard lifting applications, while double reeve models offer increased lifting capacity and reduced cable travel, making them suitable for heavier loads or limited headroom environments.

How is lifting capacity affected by air pressure?

Lifting capacity is directly proportional to air pressure. For example, a 485 lb balancer at 100 psi can lift 485 lbs, but at 65 psi, its balance capacity drops to 315 lbs, and lifting capacity becomes approximately 252 lbs (80% of balance capacity).

What control options are available?

There are three control styles. UBB, basic balancer with no controls. UAB, up/down control. UZB, zero-G "float" mode for hands-on load positioning. These options allow users to choose the level of control precision needeed for their application.

Can the balancer be used in clean environments?

Yes. The system uses non-lubricated air, which ensures a clean operating environment—ideal for applications like electronics, food processing, or clean manufacturing.

What accessories are available for mounting and integration?

Optional accessories include: ETA-4, 5, and ETA-8 suspension kits, top hook assemblies, 2-button pendant handles, and control kits. These options support flexible installation and ergonomic operation.
