Three Phase Jog System Control Methods

Method 1 - Momentary Jog Controls

  • Press and hold the extend or retract pushbutton.
  • Control voltage is applied to the limit switch.
  • Control voltage from the limit switch energizes the motor starter.
  • The motor starter supplies three phase power to the motor. The motor will run clockwise or counterclockwise to extend or retract the actuator.

  • Releasing the extend or retract pushbutton de-energizes the motor starter stopping the motor and actuator.
  • If the normally closed limit switch is activated the motor starter will be de-energized stopping the motor and actuator.

Method 2 - Maintained Jog Controls

  • Press and release the extend or retract pushbutton.
  • Control voltage is applied to the limit switch.
  • Control voltage from the limit switch passes through the stop pushbutton and energizes the motor starter.
  • The motor starter supplies three phase power to the motor. The motor will run clockwise or counterclockwise to extend or retract the actuator.

  • Pressing the stop pushbutton de-energizes the motor starter stopping the motor and actuator.
  • If the normally closed limit switch is activated the motor starter will be de-energized stopping the motor and actuator.
